Personal presentation

Hello, I am Zsuzsanna.
I am a Hungarian woman born in Serbia. I grew up in Serbia, studied in Hungary and Germany, and moved to Finland in 2003. I acquired my Master's degree in English philology at the University of Helsinki in 2008. My degree included two minors: Teacher Training from the University of Pécs, Hungary and European and Nordic Studies from the University of Turku, Finland.

I joined NIVA as a course coordinator in February 2009. Previously I worked as a teacher in Hungary and Finland. As a course coordinator I deal with a wide range of different tasks. Among these tasks are organising and marketing selected NIVA courses, following up on NIVA's budget, updating certain pages of NIVA's website, as well as editing and proof-reading brochures and distributing information about NIVA to other institutes and organisations. My job is an international one, which means that I meet and interact with interesting people from various cultures. Due to the nature of my work, I have the opportunity to travel and visit new places as well.

Through my work I have been able to use my language skills and speak Swedish, English, Hungarian and Serbian. I have also had the possibility to constantly improve my Finnish. When I joined NIVA, OHS was a relatively new field for me but I have developed a sincere interest for it, have learnt a lot and I am looking forward to deepening my knowledge in it even further.
