Personal presentation
My name is Gunilla Rasi and I am one of the about 6 % Swedish speaking Finns in Finland. I have been working with NIVA since February 1990. Before that I worked for The Finnish Employers' Confederation at their training department, and after that at one of the biggest auditing firms in Finland, the KPMG Wideri, with internal and external training. I have been studying political sciences such as contemporary history and Nordic history; furthermore I have a commercial degree and a Cambridge Proficiency degree in English. I have also been studying Danish for several years, and for the moment I'm attending a conversation course once a week.

I like travelling and meeting new people which I certainly have the opportunity to do in my job with NIVA.

My favourite hobbies are sports such as sailing and skiing: furthermore I read much, mainly novels but also scientific and political literature. I like music, both pop and classical, and I try to go to concerts and to the opera as often as possible. I also play the piano, but only for my own fun. Another hobby of mine is going to the movies, I'm especially interested in Spanish and Danish new wave films; my favourite directors beeing Pedro Almodovar, as well as Thomas Winterberg and Lars von Trier who represent the so-called Dogme films.

I spend lot of time at my summer house on the coast about 100 km from Helsinki. There I keep busy taking care of my garden and decorating the house.
