Future visions
In the recent years, the area of occupational health and safety has witnessed many rapid changes.
General labour market developments and working conditions issues strongly influence each other, and
this is also something that NIVAEDUCATION is taking up to an increasing degree.
A holistic approach to labour market and working conditions issues is in the interest of all.
|
For example the advances that IT-technology has taken in the last decade have led
to various structural transformations within the labour market, and also working conditions have consequently
changed for individual workers. An example is applications from nano-technology that not only open up a whole
new set of questions also in the area of occupational health and safety, but also raise issues linked to the
overall development of the labour market as much of the new technology is being produced in third world countries.
Saying this, it is equally important to keep in mind that certain 'old' health hazards still persist in the work
place and should not be completely overshadowed by new developments. Workplace accidents still exist, and for
example musculoskeletal disorders and psychosocial problems are far from gone within the working population.
When it comes to these important areas, preventative approach is nowadays aspired. NIVAEDUCATION continues
to offer courses also in these central areas.
