Background
Many European Directives related to safety and health at work require an assessment of risks.
Risk assessment is considered to be a good practice to be taken to protect workers' safety and health.
The prevention process starts with the reduction and if possible, total elimination of potential risks.
It is generally acknowledged that the psychosocial work environment plays a considerable role for
the occurance of a number of risks as for diseases, for stress and burnout, general quality of life, for social
exclusion, harrassment and bullying, for sickness absence and personell turnover. A risk assessment on psychosocial work
environment is therefore of a considerable importance.
Objectives
The aim of the course is to provide the participants with theoretical and practical knowledge on psychosocial
risk assessments at workplaces and its role in improving the health and safety of the worker. The latest research
findings and best practices will be introduced. The course will focus on psychosocial work environment such as stress
at work, burnout, work-home balance, working hours, changes of workplaces, harrassment and bullying as well as on how to implement
risk assessment to the psychosocial work environment and how to plan actions to reduce or eliminate risks.
