About NIVA

NIVA (Nordiska Institutionen för Vidareutbildning inom Arbetsmiljöområdet; Nordic Institute for Advanced Training in Occupational Health) is a training institute under the Nordic Council of Ministers, the forum for Nordic governmental co-operation. The purpose of NIVA is to provide advanced training for researchers, practitioners, experts and specialists in the field of occupational health and safety.

NIVA was founded in 1982 - which means that in 2012, NIVA has been an active player in the field of OH-training for 30 years. During this time, over 10 000 experts have attended NIVA-training activities, and specialists from over 40 countries have trained and networked in the activities. Today, NIVA is the only institute in Europe that solely focuses in international advanced occupational training - and course participants are accepted regardless of where in the world they come from.
